Game builder

Scholi's game builder turns your own questions into a game your class plays live. You write the questions once, then run them through any of the classroom games — a relay, an escape room, a fastest-finger round — and students join from their own devices with a room code.

How the game builder works

  1. Write your questions

Type them in, paste a CSV, or import JSON. Maths is written in an equation editor, so notation survives the trip.

  2. Preview as you build

See each question the way a student will see it, before a class ever does.

  3. Pick a game

The same question set can run as a relay, an auction, a fastest-finger round or an escape room. Choose the shape that suits the lesson.

  4. Play it with your class

Project the board, share the room code, and students join from any phone or Chromebook. No student accounts needed.

What you get

One question set, many games

Questions are not tied to one game. Write them once and run the same set as a different game next week.

Bulk import

Paste a CSV or upload JSON to load a whole bank at once instead of typing questions one at a time.

Proper maths

The question editor renders LaTeX, so fractions, powers and roots appear as maths in the game rather than as plain text.

Share it or keep it

Keep a game to your own classes, or submit it for review so other teachers can use it.

Common questions

Do I need to know how to code to make a game?

No. The builder is a visual question editor. You type questions and answers into a form, preview them, and pick which game runs them. No file editing and no code at any point.

Do students need accounts to play?

No. For classroom games, students join with a room code on their own device. Only the teacher running the game needs a Scholi account.

Can I import questions I already have?

Yes. Paste a CSV or upload a JSON file to load a whole question bank in one go. The reviewer shows you what was read before anything is saved.

Do I need a paid plan for the game builder?

Yes. The game builder is part of a Scholi teacher plan. Building question sets and running them live with your class are both included, and your games stay saved to your account so you can run them again.
