Yes. Solo games are free to play with no account. Whole-class multiplayer games need a free teacher account to host a room, but students join with a code and need no account of their own.
The teacher starts a game and a room code appears on the board. Students open the join page on any phone, tablet or Chromebook, type the code, and they are in. Nothing to install.
