  2. 5 MINName Wave. No tech needed.

The Name Wave script

No prep, no cards — just read this aloud.

Stand in a circle. Each person says their name and makes one small gesture. The class repeats the name and the gesture back together. You go first, and do it badly — laughter at the teacher is the safest laughter in the room.

Three rules behind every game

  1. Names before points

Every student should know five names by the end. That includes yours.

  2. Anonymity before spotlight

Answers are secret first. The class learns who wrote each one only after it votes. No student has to speak. You play every round too.

  3. Movement mixes cliques

The game's rules move students into new groups. Old friend groups do not stay together. You never have to ask them to.
